Before you start to make your bursary application please use the tool below to check if you are eligible for one of our bursaries.
The processing time for a successfully completed application form is currently between 4 - 6 weeks.

       Note: Students who have lived outside this area or have gaps in there residency during the last 3 years may not be eligible for support. Further information may be required.

      • Lived in the UK for 6 month or longer pending the outcome of the Home Office
      • In care of the local authority and receiving support under section 23C/23CA of the Children Act 1989 or section 21 of the National Assistance Act 1948 support. Further information may be required.
      • Granted support under section 4 of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999
  • EEA Family Members

      • Family members of EEA nationals who have been ordinarily resident in the EEA for at least the previous three years before the start of their course
      • Family members of EEA nationals who have not been ordinarily resident in the EEA for the last three year but the “family member” is an EU or UK citizen who has been resident in the EEA for the last three years

      • Entitlement to the Free Meals is dependent on receipt of specified means-tested benefits, please select which statement qualifies you for the Free Meals

        • Child Tax Credit(and not entitled to Working Tax Credit) with an income less than £16190
        • Tax Credit run-on-paid for 4 weeks after someone stops qualifying for Working Tax Credit

      • Only applicable to students aged 16-18 (and less than 19) in the four categories below:

        • you’re in or have recently left local authority care
        • you get Income Support or Universal Credit in your name
        • you’re disabled and get both Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and either Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) in your name
      • Please select your evidence - this could be a letter from your social worker or a letter from the Jobcentre plus or your Tax Credits notification for 2016/17; you will be required to upload a copy of your evidence on the next page.

        • Bedford College reserves the right to request the return of any item of equipment or the repayment of funds in the event that you withdraw from your course.
        • Where you have received a discount on your tuition fees, you may be liable for the full cost of your course should you withdraw.
        • You will abide by the Bedford College Code of Conduct.
        • You will maintain satisfactory attendance of 95% or above or accept a lesser paid award for poor attendance.
